Weight Loss … without willpower

My story – Part 3 of 3. How I lost 20kgs without dieting

Week one covered how I found a way to eliminate headaches.
Week two covered linking this discovery into eliminating anxiety and subsequent over-eating…

The key espoused by many, many weight loss experts for years was also true for me. I was 'comfort eating'.  You know, where the need for willpower is based.  When you think about it, what happens is you get anxious and need to gain comfort. One of the fastest, common ways is to eat (mothers have soothed their kids this way for years).

My most common comfort foods are the really yummy (aka: bad for you) types - chocolates, chips, biscuits, cake, lollies etc. So, the anxiety kicks in, and you feel compelled to soothe your anxiety - but when you are on a diet you have to FIGHT using WILLPOWER to not give in to your craving. When the cravings win this battle, binge eating strikes!

However, with my Anxiety Drivers removed, willpower has been of little if any concern. I was not being 'driven' so did not need my willpower to fight the drivers or cravings. I eliminate anxiety now. I don't "feed" it.

The reasons behind all this are many and varied, but a summary I have found to be true is: "The cause of all addictions or substance abuse is unresolved anxiety or similar emotional issues".

So, I have gone from 122kg to 93.5kg (and did not put any weight on over Christmas). I have done it without going on a special diet and without having to fight cravings with willpower. To me, eliminating the anxiety has eliminated the need to diet. I still have a way to go (my goal weight is 83-85kgs), and I will reach that this year without stress, without conscious effort, and certainly without struggle.

I had not weighed under 100kgs for at least 10 years. I had been on a dieting/weight loss roller coaster and various programs for about 8 years. Many diets will work IF YOU STICK TO THEM.  But so does COMMON SENSE EATING combined with regular exercise. So finally, FINALLY, I am certain that the weight will keep coming off and stay off - because I have reduced, if not eliminated, the CAUSE.

Since beginning this journey of self-discovery I have helped other people with issues such as smoking addictions, fear of flying, fear of public speaking and other anxieties. There are thousands of case studies and examples on websites for you to look at.

I learnt this process because I experienced amazing results personally (and sceptically!!!). I am happy to do the same for others, so please contact me via the detail on the back cover of the booklet (or last page for those of you reading the e-book) To me, until I DO SOMETHING, it is just a nice theory. I am totally glad that I did.

The process is called "EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques" - Creator Gary Craig.  www.emofree.com

I have studied his instructional DVDs. (He openly says "Make 100 copies to give to your friends" - so Gary's heart is in the right place) and you are welcome to do the same.

I have since studied this technology and used it on many others. I am glad to share it. I am conducting workshops on the basics – send me an email if you want to know more.

Over the coming weeks I will be reproducing weight-loss success stories – hope you find them interesting.
