International Women’s Day

In the Illawarra we are recognising the Centenary with a month of activities

In 1908 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter hours, better pay and voting rights.

100 years on, the pertinence of this event is honoured through IWD’s 2008 global theme ‘Shaping Progress”.

Celebrated on 8th March, International Women’s Day (IWD) is the global day connecting all women around the world and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.  IWD celebrates the collective power of women post, present and future.  In the Illawarra we are recognising the Centenary with a month of activities.
