Helping to develop goals and dreams

Consistency is the key to success

Consistency is the key to ultimate business and personal success and it’s something Jodie Cooper of Advanced Coaching Solutions firmly believes is playing a major role in her life.

Jodie’s Warilla based business specialises in life coaching, executive coaching, The Choice Program and motivational speaking.

Born at Hornsby but raised in Austinmer where she attended the local school and Bulli High before completing a commerce degree at the University of Wollongong, Jodie has been involved in personal coaching for three years.

After university she moved into a commercial management role and handled the marketing for her parents company Aussie Glass.

Then came 18 months of world travel and a chance to think about what direction she should really take in life.

And in 2000 Jodie became an Officer of the Australian Army Reserve after being commissioned at Duntroon.

Jodie worked briefly for BlueScope Steel, but it was the experiences obtained while with Aussie Glass that led to the establishment of Advanced Coaching Solutions.

Life Coaching, she says, is helping her clients get from life what they want, helping them develop their goals and dreams, giving them an action plan to follow and supporting them with their progress.

The Executive Coaching centres around a more skills based program aimed at supporting her clients to become more effective in the corporate world and improving, importantly, their communication skills. Many clients come to Jodie for assistance with finding a work/ life balance, or simply need to learn to cope more effectively with everyday pressures of a challenging work environment.

The Choice Program is aimed at teenagers and is conducted over 10 weeks for year 10 and 11 students.

Among the key facets of this program is a focus on inspiring and motivating, increased self-awareness, improved communication skills and self confidence, and more effective stress management. So far the program is resulting in students reporting greater general happiness and overall well-being.

Jodie’s motivational Speaking is aimed at motivating and inspiring the audience to a point where they take action to improve their lives. All of Jodie’s presentations are designed to entertain, inspire and empower the audience.

Surprising facts:

Jodie says she was quite astounded when she discovered that research clearly indicated children at age six have a more positive self image than their older teenage counterparts.

“I was quite surprised to read that as many as 80 per cent of six year olds viewed themselves positively compared to only 16 per cent at 16 years of age,” she says.

Admittedly, Jodie said, it’s obviously much easier for a six year old to feel loved and positive about themselves with so much continual family support, but she remains concerned about the teenagers.

“This is where The Choice Program comes into its own, with education for teenagers to better come to grips with their emotions, beliefs and opportunities,” she says.

When she’s got the time Jodie enjoys outdoor living by surfing, snow boarding, kayaking and climbing.

She’s also heavily involved with various networking groups in the area which provide her with a chance to meet and talk with many people from a variety of backgrounds and business experiences.

And then there’s her column titled “Your Lifestyle” which features weekly on WollongongOnline.

By the way, if you’d like a complimentary coaching session Jodie is glad to oblige. Just contact her on 0409 224 303 or by email on Jodie@advancedcoachingsolutions.com.au
