Business Brands

When Practice Meets Theory

Come along to the next Wollongong Small Business Club meeting and listen to Greg Kerr, Head of Marketing, School of Management and Marketing, Faculty of Commerce, University of Wollongong discuss the following:

• Where does branding fit and just how critical is it in promoting the image and positioning of a small business?
• How useful is academic literature when it comes to the development of a business branding strategy?
• What lessons can be learnt from looking at the practical experiences of a small business that has evolved its branding over time?

Greg Kerr will address these questions and make comparison between practitioner experiences and the academic writings.

Greg has extensive experience in business and tourism marketing and is well recognized for his knowledge of branding concepts and fundamentals. This is vividly illustrated by the many papers he has written and the fact that he has been chosen to undertake a study comparing the global branding strategies of Sydney and Dubai.

His presentation will highlight important issues and strategies for consideration by small business proprietors
