I’ve been an environmentalist all my life. I’m neither long haired nor flag waving – all I do is save water wherever I can, recycle my waste, use low energy systems in my home and plant trees – it’s that simple.

FOR WHOM THE TOLL PAYS
5 September 2008
So a farmer, and I use the word loosely, has lived in fear for two years that he would have a criminal conviction and a million dollar fine, according to the Mercury 5/9 online, just exactly what does he farm? That's not mentioned in the article.
However he quickly got over his fear the day the verdict came down because apparently on the same day, he put a DA into Council to subdivide laneways that he apparently somehow owns around Helensburgh. Certainly an unusual farming technique.
One couple who have discovered they are landlocked can pay $5000 to have a right away to their house. That’s not selling them the land, just the right away to cross to it. There is no mention whether it is a one off cost or annual.
I thought we didn’t have have a toll road on the south coast.
One of the lots is a road corridor in the 7d Hacking River Catchment but assuredness is given that there will be no new subdivision. Why should there be, when there are existing plans for around 70 home sites.
So I can understand the relief the court has proven he is not a criminal.
