The criticism by the SCLC’s Arthur Rorris over the past week about the committee set up by the Minister for Lands to oversee the development at Wollongong Harbour is more than valid!
Why would you put together a committee that purports to be representative of the community when you leave out two of the most important aspects of the community – a resident who lives on Cliff Road and would be eminently qualified to comment on many aspects of the issues to be discussed and of course the most important representative would be a member of the fishing fleet ( the traditional users of the Harbour ), and or a member of the businesses that operate there!
Why has the community been “short changed” – again?
Maybe when the Minister was given this list to approve, the fishermen of Wollongong Harbour were all out at sea and could not be considered.
Another kick in the guts to the residents of this City!

With Malcolm Turnbull's winning personality coming over clearly on his television appearances, one can say out of the 20 million people who live in Australia, Malcolm Turnbull has 44 votes so far.

I find it astounding that one group involved in the Bulli Gateway was to pay only $556 per year for 35 years, as reported in the media! Who on the former Council whether previous senior management or councillors, thought of this one for ratepayers?
This should be investigated by ICAC.
It seems this group couldn't even contribute their share of constructions costs. The Council administrators have now acted to overturn this arrangement to the tune of funding the groups share with rent of $1 million over a 10 year lease.
What surprises me more is when I mentioned this to a member of Wollongong Against Corruption, I was told it was a trade off for Sandon Point!
Come again?
I didn’t know there were forms of corruption that were okay.
