They might only have 13 members at present, but judging by the success of their recent KidzWish Day they are going to be a valuable asset to the charity.
On Friday 19 September members of the “Stars” visited local primary schools and took with them the KidzWish Fairy, Illawarra’s Miss World Australia Katie Richardson, who just happens to be on this committee, the Hawks mascot “Mohawk” and a couple of Wolves players.
The group handed out goodies to the school kids and helped spread the KidzWish message.

Later that night they were involved in a successful “Star Party” at The Master Builders Club when guests enjoyed a night of fun and dancing.
Spearheaded by KidzWish employees Rhianna and Renee Sattin the committee has already attracted interest from students at the University of Wollongong, school teachers and the National Australia Bank.
Rhianna says they are encouraged by the interest already being shown by other younger people in the area who want to join and play their part in helping the disabled and disadvantaged children, which is the key aim of the KidzWish Foundation Inc.
She also says that an advertisement placed on the university web site caught the attention of three students all of whom are studying media and public relations, and who jumped at the chance to join the committee.
They are Sarah Hoffman, Kordey Clottey and Scarlett Levy, while another who stepped forward was Juanita Risorto.
Others on the committee apart from Rhianna and Renee are Kelly Antunzez (Bidvest), schoolteachers Kate Smith (Towradgi Primary), Karley McKeowen (Granville Public), and Penelope Murray – Smith (St Mary’s), Dez Giraldi, a local who plays soccer with Sydney Football Club, Sarah Stanizzo, an executive assistant with NAB and, of course, our Miss World Katie Richardson.

Hawks mascot Mohawk, Wiss World Australia Katie Richardson and Wollongong Wolves' Balla Conde have fun with the kids.
Although the group have only been in existence for three months Rhianna says they are already looking for “bigger and better things to go public with” in 2009.
And if they can repeat the success of their recent first major venture, KidzWish Day, the many disadvantaged and disabled kids we have and the whole community will be better off.
