Five teams compete for soccer’s Champion of Champions titles

Five local teams have successfully won through to soccer’s champion of champion trophy games on October 26 at Valentine Sports Park, Football NSW headquarters. 
The Champion of Champion tournaments are held between winners of the various grades from football associations across NSW.

Figtree has 3 teams through to the finals, while Unanderra and Balgownie have 1 each. The results of the semi-finals and the draw for the finals on October 26 follow:

Under 10:
S/F: Figtree 4 Kincumber 3
F:  Figtree v Smithfield RSL at 9.45am

Under 11:
S/F:  Unanderra 2 Terrigal 1
F:  Unanderra v Sydney Juniors at 1.30pm

Under 12:
S/F: Figtree 4 Narellan Rangers 2
F:  Figtree v PCYC Parramatta at 2.45pm

Under 14:
S/F:  Balgownie 4 v Wyoming nil
F:  Balgownie v Sydney Juniors at 4pm

Under 12 women:
S/F: Figtree 4 Colo Colo Cougars 3
F:  Figtree v Smithfield RSL at 12.15pm

Under 16 women:
S/F: Woonona 1 v Springwood 4
Woonona eliminated

Under 18 women:
S/F: Unanderra 2 Bosco 3
Unanderra eliminated

Towradgi to host NSW Surf Premiership Series

Towradgi surf club is to host the first round of the NSW Surf Premiership series on November 1. Round 1 entries will close at 5pm Wednesday 22 October 2008

Entries for the NSW Surf Premiership Rounds can be completed online at the SLSNSW
Competition Registration website: www.registration.surflifesaving.com.au

This year the NSW Surf Premiership is open to proficient 13 and 14 year olds. Entry fees for these age groups are free of charge to promote participation and grass roots development.

Round 2 is to be held at Wanda SLSC on November 29, while round 3 is at Redhead SLSC on January 3, 2009. Round 2 entries will close at 5pm Wednesday 19 November 2008, while Round 3 entries will close at 5pm Wednesday 24 December 2008.

Illawarra Junior Cricket competitions begin on October 18

As indicated in last week’s column the combined Illawarra and South Coast junior cricket competitions in under 16A, 16B and 14A began on Saturday October 11.

The younger grades in the Illawarra (under 14B, 12, 11 and 10) begin on Saturday October 18. For more details go to: http://www.cricketnsw.com.au/ijca
