Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 17 November

The Lunar Nodes

SCORPIO

A few lively disputes have you not knowing which way to turn. A flash of insight, a little common sense and the need to be objective solves the problem for you quite nicely.

SAGITTARIUS

Mars, the planet representing energy has moved into your sign and solar first house where he will reside for the next six weeks. This cosmic boost can give you that added will power and determination to convince others to your ideas.

CAPRICORN

Venus has moved into your sign so you notice an increase in your social engagements, particularly work related. Relax and let others see the softer side to your nature, it may work to your advantage.

AQUARIUS

When Mercury and Saturn decide to cooperate as they are doing right now they pretty much ensure sound judgment but this will not be without its obligations and responsibilities that will need to be accepted.

PISCES

A bit of networking wouldn’t go astray for our fish this week. You won’t even have to pull them in, just swim in the same waters and watch the opportunities float in your direction.

ARIES

Mars, your ruler makes his two yearly visit to your solar ninth house urging you to unearth some new experiences. Not needing too much encouragement set forth on a journey of discovery and exploration.

TAURUS

I know it is not always easy for you to change your pattern or routine but with just a little bit of effort you may like to organise a get together of like minded souls or with a partner enjoy a trip or concert together.

GEMINI

Known for your quick wit and way with words beware of a cutting tone or sarcastic bent this week. If your workmates start to give you a wide berth suddenly turning on the charm is not going to work

CANCER

Getting what you want involves the cooperation of others this week and this makes you feel vulnerable. Being rejected is the fear that needs to be hurdled but if you don’t try your self-esteem will suffer anyway.

LEO

Melbourne Cup is over but with Mars moving into your solar fifth house the inclination to speculate or to gamble remains strong. Confidence is high but don’t bet what you can’t afford to lose.

VIRGO

Arguments or fights with siblings could turn nasty this week and it will be over a misunderstanding. Check your facts; make sure you have all the information before you start blasting.

LIBRA

The appreciation of home and family is strong and has you socialising and enjoying family functions and outings. Sentimentality could see you clinging to a relationship that has outgrown its usefulness.

THE LUNAR NODES

The Nodal axis in a natal chart is an indicator of the path of one’s soul development

Although not a planet the Lunar Nodes play an important role in astrology. Astronomically the Lunar Nodal axis is an imaginary line drawn between two points in space where the Moon’s orbit intercepts the ecliptic at the time of the New or Full Moon.

The North Node or Dragon’s Head and the South Node or Dragon’s Tail travel the zodiac in retrograde motion, orbiting the zodiac every 18.75 years.

What the Lunar Nodes represent is future and past destiny and karma. Their influence is an internal one, but no less intense because of it. They work together, as the present moment is flavoured by the past and shaped by the future.

The North Node is drawing us towards inner development and progress on an emotional level. We have to integrate the soul in a new direction, away from the past and towards more fulfilling skills.

The South Node indicates skills and abilities that we have already mastered and with which we feel comfortable. For personal growth, the positives of these skills should be carried forward as a resource towards achieving the indication of the North Node.

The Ancients saw the South Node as ‘bad’ but it only becomes a negative area if we choose not to venture out towards the North Node.
