Bulli Surf life Saving Club's Nipper Clinics
On Saturday 31st January 2009 Bulli Surf Club will be hosting the ‘Illawarra McDonalds’ Nippers Clinic from 8.30am to 11.30am at Bulli Beach incorporating the 17 Illawarra Surf Clubs.
The program will be offering advice on training and racing strategies, nutrition, swim, craft & beach racing techniques and general surf awareness. The aim of the program is for the kids to have some fun & learn how to ride their surf craft, plus improving their surfing skills.
The sessions have been constructed by Keith Caldwell & Downie Langthorne (Level 1 Surf Coach’s & Australian High Performance Squad Manager & team member). Surf Sports stars that will be assisting on the day include;
• Australian SLS Rescue 2008 member Downie Langthorne (Bulli)
• Australian High Performance Squad members Matt Freeman (Bulli), Brittany Sharkey (Bulli), Naomi Flood (Manly), Chris Allum (Cronulla) & Nathan Smith (Northcliffe)
• Australian SLS Rescue 2008 member & NSW beach rep Cara Langendam (Bulli) & Level 1 Beach Coach Leonie Langendam
• Bulli senior members Drew Cairncross, Penny Locke, Michael Locke and many more!
• New South Wales High Performance Squad members Ben Griffiths & Ryan O’Grady (both Bulli)
• Plus Illawarra senior surf sports stars and Level 1 surf coach’s
Each club is invited to nominate 10 junior members to participate in this clinic. The cost of the clinic is great value at $30 per child which includes the clinic, sausage sizzle & drink.
