Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 2nd February

Saturn Retrograde

AQUARIUS

Jupiter’s movement into your sign and solar first house for the rest of the year (occurs once every twelve years) offers plenty of opportunity for self-advancement, particularly in those areas that are unorthodox or unique.

PISCES

When Uranus and Saturn oppose each other we are combining the energies of ancient enemies. The urge is to break free of constraints so expect a bit of chaos in a relationship that may have grown stale.

ARIES

Not normally quiet and retiring you have put the needs of others ahead of your own (most unusual) and this has left a very favorable impression. This pays off with compromises being made which were unasked for.

TAURUS

Emotions heat up this week and you may feel you need to take a personal stand. It does you no good to bury your head in the sand or use manipulative tactics but rather accept that changes need to occur.

GEMINI

Any hiccups, hindrances or delays you have been experiencing particularly concerning finances or property that are jointly held or awaiting approval should now move ahead as Mercury goes direct.

CANCER

Now that the silly season is well and truly over and life settles back into some semblance of normality it is a good time to consult with a specialist on any matter that concerns you or that you have been putting off.

LEO

There could be a change in your relationship area as a friend may become a lover or a lover becomes a friend. Whatever the case the companionship gained from this union is conducive to growth.

VIRGO

This can be a very productive time for our Virgos as concentration is intensified and thoughts become clearer. Always good with the detail you are able to see what needs to be done, so start organising.

LIBRA

Friendships or other relationships formed over the next few weeks seem to take on intensity that you may not have experience for quite some time. It is almost like you have known each other forever.

SCORPIO

Depending on what sort of Scorpio you are the cosmic dance of Venus, Mars and Pluto has you running for the hills out of insecurity or heating up for some much needed action out on the town.

SAGITTARIUS

Contact with a neighbor or close relative can be beneficial over the next few weeks as you either come to an agreement, meeting each other half way or good connections are made.

CAPRICORN

Saturn retrograding through your solar ninth house from January until mid May coinciding with the opposition from his ancient enemy Uranus suggests some unexpected setbacks to travel or educational plans.\

Saturn Retrograde

The transiting Saturn retrograde phase is a period lasting about 4 ½ months each year and in 2009, transiting through Virgo, extends from January till mid May. Up until the discovery of Uranus in 1781, Saturn was the outermost planet indicating structure and boundaries.

When in direct motion, its focus is primarily on the construction of solid defenses that protect us from external and outside forces. It helps us build and maintain personal boundaries, providing the endurance and perseverance needed for our endeavors.

During the annual retrograde phase we may become burdened, frustrated or have to deal with “unfinished business”. Saturn, forever the teacher tells us to slow down, apply the breaks and get in touch with our inner limits. Hence this is not a good time to take on extra responsibilities as in a new job or career direction. Uranus opposing Saturn at the moment may provide the stimulus or insight needed to jolt us aware of when the status quo needs changing.
