Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 9 March

Full moon at 20 degrees 10 Virgo

PISCES

Use the symbolism of the Full Moon on Wednesday in your opposite sign of Virgo to make some important changes/choices in your life. Become aware of those self-defeating habits that lock you into negative behaviour patterns.

ARIES

As Mars moves from the shadow cast on him from Neptune you are able to cast aside those self-doubts and move forward with your usual self-confidence. The time used for self-reflection is not wasted.

TAURUS

Hooking up with others allows you the opportunity of gaining a different perspective, which broadens not only your views and opinions but also the way in which you approach a situation.

GEMINI

Mercury’s movement into the watery sign of Pisces where he remains for the next two weeks usually takes the sharp edge of the ability to remain focused on the job at hand but allows for more adaptability.

CANCER

The Full Moon falling across your solar 3rd and 9th house illuminates the need to reassess those long term goals and be more discerning perhaps about what you can realistically do to achieve them.

LEO

There may be a restless, rebelliousness about you this week that has you at odds with those around you. If you put up a defensive attitude others may take this to be indifference and act accordingly.

VIRGO

Relationship frustrations should be looked at closely this week and not be taken at face value. If you are able to find the underlying cause then a resolution can be worked towards.

LIBRA

This can be a very social week for those Librans who want to get out and about but if you take the initiate it can also turn into a very pleasurable time spent only in the company of a significant other.

SCORPIO

If you do your research well this week you are able to gain insight into a problem that has been eluding you for some time. By sharing this knowledge more information may be gathered.

SAGITTARIUS

Over the next few weeks you may find your thoughts drifting to the past. If this is so ponder on whether these past events still have significance or are still affecting you now. Deal with issues as they arise.

CAPRICORN

An important Full Moon as it highlights the opposition between Saturn (old) and Uranus (new) indicating perhaps a readiness in accepting your responsibilities whilst incorporating future goals.

AQUARIUS

Use the awareness raising aspect of this week’s Full Moon to look at and discard any of those personal values that are no longer in tune with the wisdom and maturity that years of living has bestowed on you.

Full moon at 20 degrees 10 Virgo

The Full Moon on Wednesday 11 March at 1.37pm AEDT is one of 2009’s most important as it highlights the ongoing opposition between Saturn (the past) and Uranus (the future), linking a social planet with a collective planet. This opposition has been in effect since October 2008 and will continue through to August 2010. The planets oppose each other around every 45 years and generally denote times of major cultural, political, and economical developments.

The 1965-67 opposition saw in Australia the opening of the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra with the changeover to decimal currency in February 1966.The Australian Water Resources Council was established in 1962 but it was not until 1965 that estimates were started on how much water was available, and how much would be available in the future. It was in May 1965 that we saw the first Australian combat force of 1100 soldiers sent to Vietnam and the huge anti-war demonstrations. Does this sound familiar?

This Full Moon also has a link up between Mercury (communication) and Pluto (transformation, rebirth) and Venus (interdependent relationships) and Jupiter (expansion of consciousness) and when we add to the mix the Virgo/Pisces polarities perhaps we can start to see individual existences in terms of the whole.

Sabian Symbols from An Astrological Mandala – Dane Rudhyar

Sabian Symbol for 21 degrees Virgo – A GIRL’S BASKETBALL TEAM. Physical training as a means to inculate the feeling of participation in a collective culture.

Sabian Symbol for 21 degrees Pisces – UNDER THE WATCHFUL AND KIND EYE OF A CHINESE SERVANT, A GIRL FONDLES A LITTLE LAMB. Growth in consciousness in its earliest tactile awareness of the wonders of unsophisticated living.
