Office space solutions on your doorstep

A new office rental space facility is now operating in the heart of Wollongong offering a wide range of services to new and established businesses

Synergy Business Centres, who operate a network of similar centres in Sydney and are expanding into Queensland and Victoria, have established a Business Centre in Wollongong on the first floor of The Steelers Club in Burelli Street, with former BHP stalwart Mark Stone in charge.

Synergy provides furnished offices of various dimensions, supported by a professional reception and all the necessary office services such as telephone, internet, printing and copying and meeting rooms.

Mark says what’s on offer is beneficial, not only to established operations looking for a better office situation, but also to “new faces on the block” who are ready to take the next step beyond working from home.

There are 27 offices available at the Wollongong site and three meeting rooms catering for different sized groups. Operating from the Business Centre is a most economic way for any size business to achieve that successful business image.

Mark was born in Wollongong and went to primary school here before completing his secondary education and university in Newcastle and moving on to join BHP as a trainee. During his 33 years with the company Mark worked mainly in human resources, extensively in locations along the east coast of Australia, before spending a number of years in North and South America.

He returned here four years ago with Illawarra Coal but had a touch of “itchy feet” and the desire, as he says, to “try his hand at running his own business”. Leading to the establishment of the Wollongong Synergy Business Centre and the start of a new, interesting and challenging business life.

Already Synergy has attracted local customers and others from out of the city are expressing interest. Mark believes the flexibility they offer will continue to be a major attraction.

The virtual office

Mark says Synergy also offers what he terms “a virtual office” to support those businesses who primarily work “out in the field”.

“For those businesses who don’t need a physical office space, but do need someone to manage their calls and mail so they can concentrate on their work, our virtual office service is the answer,” he says.

“Our flexible and economic packages suit both large and small businesses alike and provide all business operators with the ability to network with others and present a professional image to their clients.”

Sounds good to me. There's a lot of one person businesses who can't be in two places at once, but need an office base, and couldn't afford to employ someone to attend the office. I can remember message services of yesteryear.
