Hawks basketball youth teams give Wildcats horror night

The Parramatta Basketball Association hosted the Illawarra Hawks men and women in Division 1 of the Youth League on Saturday night at the Auburn Basketball Centre (ABC). It would prove to be an ill-fated night for the Wildcats, who would lose both games as Illawarra won the Youth League women's game 91-55 and Youth League men's game 86-78.

The Wildcats Youth League women looked competitive at the start of their game but the Hawks would still lead at every break in play, gradually increasing the margin each quarter before finally crushing the home team 38-16, in the final quarter, to seal the 36-point win.

The Wildcats youth league men led 42-39 at the main break against the Hawks but would unfortunately lose their way, over the next two quarters, to eventually fall by eight points.

YOUTH LEAGUE WOMEN: Illawarra Hawks 91 (T Tubaro 18, T Dusmanovic 15, K Smith 14) defeated Parramatta Wildcats 55 (R Adamson 14, E Adu 11, S Azzi 8)

The Hawks youth league women have won five from ten games and are in 7th position in the 13 team competition.

YOUTH LEAGUE MEN: Illawarra Hawks 86 (Z Delaney 18, S Mullan 18, D Potter 17) defeated Parramatta Wildcats 78 (M Musgrave 31, J Atherton 15, A Agang 13)

The Hawks men are running 9th in the 12 team competition with 3 wins from ten games.
