ILLAWARRA’S 50 TOP BLOKES – COMING TO AN ORGANISATION NEAR YOU

We dare you to be a Top Bloke. This is the message the Illawarra will be giving local young men starting from March 29th
at 11am when the region will spend the next 50 days on the hunt for 50 Top Blokes aged 18-24 who will give
volunteering a go.

The next 50 days will see the Illawarra seek 50 young men aged 18-24 years old encouraging them to volunteer with a
local organisation in dire need of young male volunteers. Best Catch Foundation’s newest public campaign titled 50 Top
Blokes in 50 Days is a direct response to the constant demand for young male volunteers by local not for profit
organisations. Best Catch believes that young men have a lot to offer their local community “We hear the stereotypes
about young men, but we believe young men can be assets, not liabilities – and this is one way they can positively
contribute to our community” said Managing Director of Best Catch Foundation, Melissa Abu-Gazaleh.
Local organisations who are continually in need of volunteers, particularly young males, have jumped at the opportunity
including State Emergency Service, St John Ambulance, Aerial Patrol, NSW Marine Rescue, Cancer Council, Barnardos
and more. “We’re pleased to know that we are assisting local organisations develop the next generation of young male
volunteers – especially those who thrive on building young men to becoming positive male role models for our
community” said Ms Abu-Gazaleh.

Supporters of this campaign include Principal Sponsor Corrimal Apex, Major Sponsor Peoplecare and IMB, Media
partner i98fm, North Wollongong Pub, University of Wollongong and Wollongong TAFE.

Registration is easy, beginning at 11am today young men can visit www.bestcatch.com.au and view all
the volunteering opportunities available and make their preferences. Then a meet and
greet will be held where they can network, find out more about these organisations
and officially sign up to volunteer. If a young male feels he doesn’t have time to
volunteer, the campaign has exciting opportunities to donate money to significant
social projects alleviating disadvantage.

If you know of a young man who should try volunteering encourage them to register online at www.bestcatch.com.au
