Wollongong Council presentations at I3net meeting

Illawarra’s Innovative Industry Network (i3net) has its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, 10th August 2010, commencing at 9 am.
Venue – Wollongong City Council, Level 9 Function Room, Burelli Street, Wollongong.
Cost—Nil.

Two Presentations:
Chris Hayne Council’s Supply Chain and Logistics Manager. Chris will discuss Councils procurement policy and procedures.
Peter Chrystal Council’s Place Manager.  Peter will discuss key capital works in the Illawarra.
Networking and refreshments available after the presentation.

Focus on Our Water at Wollongong Science Centre

Our Water, Questacon’s latest travelling exhibition will open at the Wollongong Science Centre on August 7 as part of a two year tour. This comprises 28 hands-on exhibits designed to inform and encourage.

Everything you need to know about health at Uni in the brewery

The Uni in the Brewery series enables you to hear prominent researchers from the University of Wollongong explain their ideas and research in a relaxed and participatory environment over a few foaming ales. The general public is very welcome to attend and join in the discussion. Events are at the: Five Islands Brewery, Eastern end of the WIN Entertainment Centre (Cnr Harbour and Crown Streets) Wollongong. Cost: FREE. Presentations from 5:30pm-6:30pm.

Next event features Sandra Jones of the Faculty of Health & Behavioural Sciences who will talk on: “Everything I need to know about my health is on TV - but most of it is wrong!” on August 25. Help your local community with seniors’ health issues

Are you over 50 years old?

The Health Promotion Service for older people would like to train you to be a volunteer educator to conduct informative health related discussions to groups of seniors in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven areas.

The 3 day training will provide you with information about the role of a peer educator, group presentation skills and an introduction to health related topics. The program is run in many community languages, so if you speak English or other languages, we want you!
