Your Business
by Paul Wright

Are your civil liberties being eroded?

This is a wake-up call

Are you too busy earning a living or too tired at the end of the day to take notice of what is really happening in the world around you?  It’s my observation that the great majority of the population certainly is.
If that includes you, this is a wake-up call so that you stop listening only to the dribble fed you by mainstream media sources (whether TV or radio) and begin looking for the real story and the agenda that are being quietly pursued and implemented across Australia, Europe and North America.
But Paul I hear you say “What do I care what the politicians do and say; I mean you can’t trust a word they say anyway. I just want to get on with my life and business?”
Yes, it’s true, that politicians don’t rank very highly with the majority of people in the integrity and truth stakes, yet there is no doubt that there are some politicians who are genuine in their desire to work towards meaningful outcomes for their constituents.
Others, on the other hand, are more interested in their own self-interest and are knowingly going alone with the “party line”.  In such cases it is hard to know whether the average backbencher has definite knowledge of the big picture agendas that are being pursued - although I think the same cannot be said of senior Ministers and Cabinet Members, along with the Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Treasurer Wayne Swan.
In any case, the punch line is that these bigger issues ARE now affecting and will continue to affect your life and business. Forewarned is forearmed so that you can have discernment and wisdom.
At this point this is NOT about being a “conspiracy theorist”, a “nut-job” or looking for “terrorists under the bed” or any such thing.  It is about being alert to what is really going on and weighing on balance the evidence so that you can make informed choices for yourself, your family and your business.

So Paul what are some of those big picture agendas?

Well, for starters, consider these:
• Border protection and security.
• Terrorism and the so-called “war on terror”.
• The currency wars and the continued devaluation of the USD (and its impact on our exporters due to very strong Aussie dollar).
• The outlook for crude oil prices and its impact on transportation costs all along the supply chain (will it return to USD$140+ per barrel and how will it impact your business if it does?).
• The impact of derivatives and ongoing impact of the mortgage crisis in the USA on the US and global banking system.
• The fraudulent use of fractional reserve banking by financial institutions and also by COMEX and LBMA (London Bullion Market Association). This means, for example, that LBMA has sold gold that does not exist and issued certificates of ownership on that gold and, if everyone wanted to collect their gold, a bunch of people would be left empty handed in a very expensive game of musical chairs. Make sure you’re not one of them.
• The increasing control that multi-nationals (like Monsanto) are taking on the food chain especially with GMO seed crops, and what that means for farmers and consumers worldwide.
• Global warming and the push to introduce carbon trading schemes around the world.
• Wealth protection – how are you protecting your wealth?  Are you trusting in fiat (paper currency and other instruments) or is your wealth in physical assets that you control, e.g. precious metals.
• The United Nations policies on population control
http://www.infowars.net/articles/december2007/101207Depopulation.htm  and the declassified 1974 document.
http://www.population-security.org/28-APP2.html
• The United Nations control over food supply via the “Codex Alimentarius”.
The list could go on and no doubt you could add your own topics. I could have included references on all items but decided to tease you with the UN documents on population control. Those of you who are interested can do more digging of your own.
That said, are you sure that what you are being fed is true and accurate?

Let’s take a few examples:

• Was al-Qaeda really responsible for 9/11?  (Surely a Government wouldn’t kill its own citizens would it?) As another example, research the Gulf of Tonkin event in 1964 – this is the event that gave rise to the US going to war with Vietnam.
• Is global warming principally able to be attributed to mankind only?
• Are vaccines really in your best interests and should your loved ones be taking them?
• What is really happening with quantitative easing (aka QE2) as announced by the Federal Reserve in the USA in the last week?
• Are the increased security measures at airports really about catching and stopping terrorism or is there another agenda?
• Do you really believe fluoride in the water is beneficial to your health?
• Do you really understand what is happening to our food supply with the continued introduction of GMO foods and are you sure they are safe to consume?
• Did you know that multi-nationals like Monsanto have patents on certain GMO seeds and aggressively pursue and protect their commercial interests to the detriment of those that do not want to use GMO seed (and prefer open pollinated seeds) for cropping.

At this point you may think I have lost it and am rambling but I assure you I have not.
This is critically important because by stealth your rights and civil liberties are being progressively eroded across all levels of society and many times it is in the name of the fight against global terror.
You see, many people have swallowed the bait hook line and sinker and they are prepared to give up more and more of their personal freedoms and rights in the interests of this fight.
What about you?  How much more of your freedoms will you relinquish?
What do you mean Paul, of course I’d be willing to give up personal freedoms and rights for greater overall security.
Or maybe you’re not sure.  The jury’s still out you say.
So you’re sitting on the fence.
Let me help you get off it, and give you two examples which should cause you to cringe and may help you to look at events more deeply.
(And please don’t dismiss this with such intellectually shallow retorts such as “Only in America”. This can and will happen in Australia unless you and me take a stand.)
Example 1:  Airport Security and use of “Naked Body” scanners
• Would you want a stranger to take images of you naked or to be able to fondle you, your wife or your children, in the interests of improved security?  I don’t think so!

By the way these procedures are having a huge impact on the airlines with many people being very circumspect about flying because of this. From a business perspective this is clearly hurting airline revenues and profitability and so is just another reason we need to be careful about how much government intervention we willingly allow in our lives.

Example 2:  Data Mining Trends – Implications for your privacy
Source: Daniel Tencer Raw Story Nov 7, 2010
The age of the plain old credit score is gone, says a report at the Wall Street Journal, and it’s been replaced by ever more intrusive efforts by banks and credit agencies to gauge exactly what you’re worth, and what you can pay.
To that end, financial firms are now tracking their customers’ bank deposits, rent payments or home values, and even utility bills to figure out who may soon become a financial risk, reports WSJ’s Karen Blumenthal.
So, for example, if your employer pays you through direct deposits and those deposits stop, financial institutions can now have warning that your money situation is likely to tighten, and may deny you credit on that basis.
But the efforts don’t end there. A new area of research, income estimation, “took off earlier this year,” WSJ reports, and involves financial firms collecting information about mortgages, personal loans and credit history to determine how much an individual makes and how much credit they should be given.
In this new era of deep data-mining, even your utility bills and rent check aren’t out of bounds.

Now for a complete change of pace …

Tribute To Erik Rasmussen (late of Burradoo)
Erik was a dear friend and international entrepreneur who unexpectedly departed this earth and went to glory in the last 2 weeks in his 70th year.  Erik was a colourful character, full of energy and had a genuine love and interest of people.  He is greatly missed and our deepest condolences go to Patrica, Patita, Roberto and Bruce.

Concluding Comments

With the unexpected passing of Erik, I took time to reflect and take stock.
Questions I asked myself (and I suggest you ask yourself honestly) are:
• Am I happy with what I am doing?
• Do I spend sufficient time with my loved ones (that’s quantity AND quality time)?
• If I knew I was going to die very soon how would/should my use of my time change?
• Is there anything I should change to ensure that I impart the love, joy and encouragement to people around me?
• What can I do better in areas where it really counts?
• Are my answers to these questions congruent with the answers that my spouse would give if answering on my behalf (that’s to check that you are not practising self-denial or self-deceit ?)
Go ahead ask yourself those and other questions you may think of. After all, time does what it does, with amazing regularity. It disappears at the rate of one hour per hour, but the good news is that it also arrives at the same rate. Everybody has the exact same time to work with, at least until … time runs out for you in the end.
