Futureworld is having its Evergreen Gala Dinner on Friday 18th June at 6.30pm Kembla Grange Race Course, Bert Lillye Room. Illawarra’s Eco-Innovation award will be presented on the night. This year the award is in memory of Dr Pat Mowbray, an outstanding ambassador for Futureworld.

A showcase of Innovative Businesses – free of charge


The focus of the 2010 Illawarra Innovation Festival is a showcase of Illawarra's Innovative Businesses. We have been searching for businesses of all types that are involved in innovation. This innovation can take many forms; anything from creating a new piece of technology, to developing an original approach to opening up a new market. Many local businesses have been nominated.
Guest speaker will be Miranda Bond, Director, Inika Cosmetics. Miranda will share her experiences in establishing Inika in 2006 and the innovation she applied to be business which has helped her establish a very successful business.

Factory of the Future


A direct-digital manufacturing event - the first of its kind in Australia - will be held at CSIRO Lindfield on Thursday 24 June 2010.  Presenters include two renowned international guests, Terry Wohlers from the US and Stefan Ritt from MTT Technologies Germany, as well as Dr Mahnaz Jahedi from CSIRO and Bill Bardsley from Frontline.


It will explore how Australian companies can capitalise on the next industrial revolution.  Technologies like selective laser melting and cold spray could be applied to custom consumer products, aerospace, telecommunications, medical, defence, electronics, automotive, dentistry, arts and entertainment.
