35 ways to bring back the Fun!

(For not a lot of money.)

Life is a little like a box of chocolates…. Not knowing what you’re going to get is part of the fun! If all the chocolates in the box were plain old dairy milk, after 20 years of only dairy milk, it would be getting a little old! Anyone can live on and enjoy dairy milk for a few weeks, even months, if you’re into chocolate like I am, but lets’ face it…. Variety really is the spice of life!

This week I want to focus on bringing back the fun, putting some more variety back into that chocolate box and doing a few new, exciting and challenging things to break up the old patterns and get you really living again!

So here are some ideas to get you started. My husband and I have a little book of all the things we want to do, including restaurants we want to go to, movies we want to see, places we want to travel and a big wish list of all the things we want in the back…. This is just some of things on our ‘Fun – TO DO’ list.

1) Organise a picnic with friends at a local park or beach.
2) Go to Minamurra Rainforest and reenergize yourself with a walk in nature!
3) Get fish and chips and sit at Shellharbour on the beach and enjoy the sunshine.
4) Do a candle light dinner with a partner or good friend.
5) Visit a winery for a tasting.
6) Organise a girls/ boys night in with movies/ sports and your favorite food and drinks.
7) Sky walk at Knights Hill.
8) Head out for a night camping trip, perhaps to Coledale or Nowra. Make sure you take the marshmellows!
9) Organise breakfast on the beach at sunrise. You’ll be amazed at the beauty!
10) Walk up to sublime point at Austinmer, it’s not for the feint hearted, but it’s a brilliant view and well worth the effort!
11) Choose three of your favorite restaurants and visit them all in one evening for dessert and coffee only. YUM!
12) Grab an ice cream and sit on the grassy knoll at Gerringong. (While you’re there grab some banana pancakes from Natural Necessities, they are the best!)
13) Try Belly dancing or pole dancing…. Make sure you take a buddy and your laughing gear!
14)  Bake cupcakes for a friend, and top them with smarties just to celebrate your friendship!
15) Ice skating- You’ll never know until you try it…
16) Go Ten Pin bowling with as many friends as possible (dragging non-bowlers along to try it out is also important, and much more entertaining!)
17) Walking in the rain- This is lovely is summer, but not a whole lot of fun in Winter!
18) Take a little one to a park to feed the ducks (you may need to borrow a small child if necessary!)
19) Get some pencils or paints and get creative! Just be inspired and colourful…. Please don’t start with the intention of creating a masterpiece… The point is to have fun!
20) Head to Huskison for a dolphin or Whale watching cruise. A beautiful drive and a lovely day out!
21) Take your bike to Ruby’s at Bulli Beach, ride along the bike track, and then grab brunch as a reward!
22) Host a dinner party and make lots of fancy and delicious dishes.
23) Take a bottle of wine to the beach with your partner/ good friend and watch the sunset.
24) Visit Fitzroy falls. They truly are beautiful!
25) Take a trip to Robertson Pie shop. The blueberry pie with double cream is worth the drive!
26) Take your dog to the park (or borrow a dog if necessary) and just play!
27) Book in to see a comedy show… Laughter is good for the soul!
28) Try a new exercise class, perhaps Yoga or Pilates.
29) Visit Dapto markets – You may just pick up a bargain!
30) Create a vege garden, or a little window sill herb garden.
31) Soak in a hot spa with candles, relaxing music and a good book.
32) Do a day trip to Darling Harbor. Visit Paddy’s markets, China Town and perhaps the aquarium or IMAX.
33) Have a picnic at Audley in the National Park. The serenity will astound you!
34) Take some friends to Put Put golf and laugh and laugh!
35) Borrow a kite and take it to the beach. There’s something truly liberating about flying a kite!

Hopefully that has given you some inspiration to get started and ‘BRING BACK THE FUN!’
