Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 2 June 2008

The astrological elements

GEMINI

Quite a social time for our twins but objectivity could be problematic. Your radical viewpoint makes you stand out from the crowd but when dedicated to others become quite advantageous.

CANCER

It is hard for you to see things clearly at the moment causing you to fret and worry. Emotional conflicts with others may cause you to act and respond impulsively, not seeing the situation for what it really is.

LEO

Put your motivation and energy to good use because not only will you accomplish much, but you will also appear to be a mover and a shaker heading in all the right directions. Others are taking note.

VIRGO

Your having second thoughts and this is not a bad thing. As an earth sign you are more comfortable with a slower more reflective pace. Mercury’s retrograde motion is allowing for this so don’t feel pressured or rushed.

LIBRA

You’re probably feeling restless this month and if so a good time to start planning your holiday. Now I didn’t say book it but certainly browsing a few travel agents, brochures, money needed, when. Look at a few logistics.

SCORPIO

If your relationship with your parents have been a bit tricky in the past this is a very good time to get together and forge some new links. Parent/child relationships can become set in concrete but they don’t need to be.

SAGITTARIUS

So your plans for a bit of home renovation have been put on the back burner possibly due to financial constraints. Don’t give up hope as you are really not sure what it is you want but if you give yourself a few months this indecision will pass.

CAPRICORN

You have been in a lot more reflective frame of mind lately and this will continue for some months to come. Jupiter retrograding through your first house has taken your focus from the tangible to a deeper dimension.

AQUARIUS

Mars still energising your 7th house of relationships indicates it is a good time to put partnerships to the forefront of your life This can mean personal or business but either way let the ego go.

PISCES

Saturn in your 7th house of relationships till Oct 2009 will see an increasing amount of demands made upon you that will test your one to one encounters with others. Do not try to side step your responsibilities.

ARIES

Tempo of your life is pretty full on at the moment with lots of coming and going. Seems you can’t settle at any one thing so if you have to spread yourself around do something constructive and gather that information while you are at it.

TAURUS

Harmonious relationships on the home front make you feel good about yourself and this may transfer itself  to some impulsive and lavish spending particularly on articles for the house.

THE ASTROLOGICAL ELEMENTS

AIR: GEMINI, LIBRA, AQUARIUS

We live and breathe the Air as part of our survival mechanism. Mythology usually represents Air as the winds, which are often destructive but of enormous benefit to sailors. It carries earth’s substances, creatures and human messages throughout the world allowing for growth of both nature and knowledge.

All are yang signs therefore along with the Fire element represent the active, initiatory part of our psyche that is energized by other people and external experiences. At the end of a long hard day prefer to unwind with activity or socializing.

Astrologically Air corresponds to Jung’s Thinking Type with a focus on issues of equality, sharing and the theory of relatedness, encouraging equality, individuality and consciousness. It relates to mental agility and perceptiveness, movement and freedom, change and expansion into new experiences. They need a great amount of space, emotionally, physically and psychologically as the ability to change is natural, and without enough space air feels stifled which raises anxiety levels.

Air’s gifts are its awareness of duality and the ability to share ideas and experiences in many differing relationships. The shadow side can often be superficiality, vacillation and   a difficulty in the sphere of intimacy and emotional constancy where they are very unclear and inarticulate. They may use detachment and separateness as a barrier against relationship, with an over emphasis on what is logical and rational, becoming out of touch with feelings e.g. living in their heads.
