Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 13 April

The Sun in Gemini

ARIES

When Mars the action planet links up with Uranus the unpredictable, anything is likely to happen. Our birthday Rams will not be taking no for an answer but do take care as this combination is accident-prone.

TAURUS

The end of the week sees thoughts turning to more practical affairs and you are able to focus and consolidate all those ideas that have been buzzing around in your head. Now is the time to put them to good use.

GEMINI

Sit down, relax and put the feet up and try and enjoy some calm or down time, and if you are finding it hard to still your mind, use music, meditation or yoga to aid relaxation. Make the space to do this.

CANCER

Everyday affairs seem to get on top of you and the sheer routine of it all has you crawling back into your shell wondering if it will ever end. Create a bit more order and this will increase your ability to change things.

LEO

If an opportunity presents itself grab it with both hands. You will be very familiar with what it represents and even though there may be an initial sense of uncomfortableness it soon feels right.

VIRGO

Mercury’s movement into the earthy sign of Taurus allows you to collect your wits and get down to some serious and practical affairs. Planning and organising is your forte so get to it.

LIBRA

Venus stations direct at the end of the week after her 42-day retrograde motion, which only occurs every 18 months. Stationed at the critical or anaretic degree of twenty-nine if you have become clear about what you want you just might get it.

SCORPIO

The last few weeks may have seen some stressful relationship issues arise and these may now come to a head seeking a resolution. This could involve the work environment so do not procrastinate.

SAGITTARIUS

Not that you aren’t always ready to ‘chew the fat’ with any and all that you come across but this week you may find yourself feeling very sociable and actively seek out those friendships or companions that provide good fellowship.

CAPRICORN

An altercation with someone seems to get out of hand and won’t seem to go away, this has you doubting not only yourself but also your abilities. This lack of self-confidence is fleeting but you will need to meet the challenge.

AQUARIUS

Oh dear, impulse spending could be a real hazard this week so try and avoid all those places where you may be tempted. You may feel you need these things but perhaps you only want them.

PISCES

There is nothing wrong with reflecting on a course of action particularly if it has come out of the blue and needs proper evaluation. Indeed this could be what is needed to stimulate your interest.

The Sun in Gemini

Gemini is the third sign in the ‘natural’ zodiac and along with Virgo is said to be ruled by Mercury, the communicator. Gemini is also the first of the air signs and we see our conscious relationship to other human beings extended by the air we breathe. Air is the element through which man experiences a basic extension of relationships uniting us with every breathing organism.

It was through the original development and use of the hand “ruled” by Gemini that man became the maker of tools enabling our pioneers (Aries) and settlers (Taurus) to more effectively gain use of the soil (earth) enabling us to control and change the environment.

Using the signs of the zodiac as a process of personality development we see in Gemini how these new associations led to new patterns of relationship and how along the way man, the thinker, progeny of man the maker, is born. The impulses and inspiration experienced through Aries is consolidated in Taurus and put into concrete expression in Gemini.

In the opposite sign of Sagittarius, man becomes concerned with social connections and movements in society whereas in Gemini man is building a closer and more personal web of connections between nervous and intellectual systems of logic and technique and is more aligned to the immediate environment.

Gemini builds with words and language, being poet and not the Sagittarian philosopher, making sure that even while making ever new contacts does not extend from familiar structures because this is the experience needed to grow from.

The scattering of energy gives the opportunity to meet new people, experience many different kinds of thought extending the capacity for relationships all of which allows for the development of personality.
