Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 25 May

The Sun in Virgo

GEMINI

Mercury goes direct on Sunday so the time for deliberation is almost over. Although not moving into Gemini till mid June the mercurial nature is stabilised and given patience and endurance in Taurus. Logical thinking.

CANCER

An emotional outburst at work could have you running for cover. The cause could very well be routed in jealousy so try not to preoccupy yourself with it as it may provide just the opportunity you need.

LEO

Feelings of discontent make you restless this week unable to settle at any one task. Instead of being frustrated by this use it to get out and about, perhaps a bit of networking would not go astray.

VIRGO

Too much information is creating confusion so start parring it down a bit otherwise you may become quite overwhelmed. Focus on one thing at a time until you are able to see the broader outline.

LIBRA

With the sexual archetypes of Venus and Mars still united you will gain a lot of enjoyment from vigorous activities with your partner. This is no time for lethargy so initiate some action.

SCORPIO

With winter coming on there are a few home improvements that need your attention. Your energy levels are high so channel some of the excess off in this direction and the other half will be much appreciative.

SAGITTARIUS

With Jupiter planet of wisdom, Neptune planet of inspiration and Chiron, he of the healer abilities all in your solar third house you should need no more encouragement in taking up the cosmic symbolism and applying it to sibling relationships.

CAPRICORN

Don’t allow the seeds of discontent to sprout this week and sway you from your course of action. It is a passing phase that allows you to pause and reflect, and then perhaps reorganise.

AQUARIUS

With intuition high and the ability to remain emotionally detached if you are having financial problems or need to discuss financial matters with a family member then set aside time to do so.

PISCES

Try not to allow doubt and confusion to cloud your mind or sway you from your goals with a realistic attitude and faith in yourself and your abilities you find the courage to continue on your way.

ARIES

Nothing wrong with your confidence this week indeed you are filled with so much enthusiasm the trouble could be taking on far more than can be humanly possible to achieve.

TAURUS

No need to feel guilty about tucking yourself away and enjoying your own company. Of course the pleasure can be doubled with a partner but you will need to be the one to take the initiative.

THE SUN IN VIRGO

In Virgo, the sixth sign of the natural zodiac, the evolving consciousness of man is mainly occupied with analysing, reacting against or developing further all that occurred in Leo. Having found a foundation and home in Cancer we are then confronted with social responsibilities in Leo, playing our part and entering society through procreation and creativity, releasing the energy of personality.

In Virgo, the proud personality must learn to be an apprentice and serve a master to improve the technique of behaviour. Through self-criticism, study, hygiene and mastering technique we begin to get a new perspective upon human relationships. Here we learn to serve and to criticise the most basic impulses before opening ourselves to the true life of human relationships by becoming in Libra a social being.

The lion is king of the jungle because symbolically he is able to lord it over lesser creatures and as he does this he finds himself alone in the jungle. The ego is also alone only seeing itself in relation to others performing before a captive audience. Virgo is also alone but the emotional and creative thought dramas become reflective, analytical understanding where it has learnt to look beyond the self for a more collective purpose.

Hence in Virgo we learn to become objective to own and others’ way of behaviour, analysing and refusing to be blind to defects. We learn to be absolutely honest in the evaluation of any performance, to criticise dispassionately and without prejudice, to discriminate. Technique is learnt but skill, born of adequate training and practice comes last.

Keywords include – analysis, discrimination, criticism, and routine of work, purity, self-integrity, care of body, hygiene, and training.
