Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 15 June

The Sun in Scorpio

GEMINI

Mercury entering Gemini is on his home soil so the pace of life will speed up a bit for you. Your head may be full of ideas and information, which you are more than happy to communicate to others. Have a chat.

CANCER

A disruptive and somewhat unusual week as you try and shake off those ties that bind you. Not a good week to plan so take life as it comes.  Any changes that eventuate will not set in concrete.

LEO

Acts of bravado will get you nowhere and indeed may come back to bite you. So put a sock in it and make sure you have done the homework to back up your statements. If so you will gain confidence.

VIRGO

With so many ideas running through your head it becomes hard to get a handle on any of them. Try not to become overwhelmed by it all; adjustments are going to need to be made no matter what the decision.

LIBRA

Even though finances may be tight you are finding enjoyment from the simple pleasures of life. A quiet comfortable evening by the fire with a good book or the enjoyment of a movie with your partner satisfies.

SCORPIO

Getting away from those set agendas will allow more flexibility this week and although the uncertainty will leave you less prepared others’ reactions, whether critical or not will, help you reassess.

SAGITTARIUS

Jupiter began his annual four-month retrograde period yesterday making this an ideal time for a bit of self-reflection and contemplation. What has generally been expected of you and is this what you want to continue?

CAPRICORN

A bit of criticism has you frothing at the mouth but it doesn’t hurt to listen to others for a change. If you can get over your initial reaction and who it came from, it may give you an amazing insight.

AQUARIUS

With the Moon touching your ruler Aquarius at the start of the week you may find yourself easily irritated and annoyed. Patience will continue to be at a low ebb and a certain rebelliousness creates issues.

PISCES

You may be experiencing a lot of confusion around the current state of affairs and this will continue for some time unless you pull your head out of the sand and see that which you have been overlooking.

ARIES

Buy now repent later. This impulsive action may see you needing to eliminate or make adjustments in another area of your life further down the track. Next to impossible but try and think before acting.

TAURUS

The roaring of the fire, a home cooked meal and a glass of wine all remind you of how little is needed for a happy and contented life. You like to entertain so share the experience with some friends.

THE SUN IN SCORPIO

In Libra we see the value of human interchange, the reality of living together and moving forward. We come to the eighth sign of the zodiac Scorpio where, from the reality of human interchange, the energy is born of communal feelings and realisations. To know that the community exists and to work for it belongs to Libra whereas in Scorpio there must be identification.

Here we see the yearning to identify the self with something greater, to transcend the self with the greater whole of humanity. The sex force of Scorpio is not to be confused with the progeny building of Taurus but rather as a means to reach liberation from the narrow limits of self where an individual can become more than himself. While civilisation develops in the Sagittarius phase of the life cycle, it has its basis in Scorpio.

The civilizing power is an aspect of the Scorpio type of sex, which bears fruit not through progeny but through society. Commerce, which is established in Libra, generates abundant fruit in Scorpio and as such if these fruits are cornered by the greedy, a social sin is committed.

In Scorpio we see the beginning of identifying our destinies with the destinies of humanity and merging into the greater whole but this also provides fertile ground for the dark side to emerge. The energies provided by living together can also produce greed for power and social lust. Business trusts built on greed, politicians bartering in public authority or racketeers, all leaders who play on fear and mass passions commit the sin of Scorpio.
