TAURUS
New Moon in your sign on the 14th is a fertile time for new beginnings or a clean start. The Moon is said to be exalted in Taurus having an affinity with the Earth Goddesses Gaia and Demeter. Use this time to build a foundation that provides emotional and material comfort, which may mean progressing step by step. Become aware of your personal needs setting appropriate boundaries.
GEMINI
Full Moon in your opposite sign of Sagittarius falls in your solar 7th house of relationships so is a good time to reappraise those associations that may have become more of a daily grind than an inspiring affair. May just need a bit of open and honest communication with regards to feelings and sentiments. Be careful not to become caught up in trivia, making mountains out of molehills.
CANCER
You may be examining the role of friendships in your life and how your values and ideals are on par or differ. No-one lives in a vacuum; our friendships and the groups or associations we deal with provide much needed interaction and fulfil differing needs. On the 18th the Moon links up with the North Node indicating new relations or a new contact or perhaps a parting of the ways.
LEO
Elements in the work place may bring out your competitive and, dare I say, combative spirit so utilise them well and use your initiative to start a new project. End of the month could see a drop in energy levels or an element of uncertainty coming into play that creates confusion or uncertainly. Seize the iron while it is hot, as the momentum may not last the distance.
VIRGO
The communication planet Mercury goes direct on the 12th but don’t expect the backlog to clear immediately. Patience and persistence will be needed to sort through it all. Still in the slow and steady sign of Taurus and in easy conversation with Pluto some astute findings may unravel making you very thankful for the delay and the backlog that was caused.
LIBRA
Venus in the very social sign of Gemini has made for a very social and gregarious time, flitting from one social function to another. This changes from the 20th when the Goddess of Love moves into the family oriented sign of Cancer where the company of home and family provides the interaction we need. Surrounded by those we love we seek safety and security from loved ones.
SCORPIO
Mercury the communicator is in Pluto’s underworld all month so conversations are not shallow affairs but take on more of a deep and meaningful tone. Pluto, although having a lot of bad press, is also the restorer of life who makes us look at the shadow side of life and ourselves so as to bring issues such as fears, phobias to the light of day. This helps disperse the darkness we may have lived with.
SAGITTARIUS
Benevolent Jupiter makes his every 14-year conjunction with the zany Uranus creating chaos and unpredictable events. This brings the opportunity to change and spread our horizons but with the opposition to Saturn, the boundary maker, not forgetting responsibilities or commitments. The Full Moon in your sign helps open you up to a new perspective that can enrich your daily life.
CAPRICORN
You’ve developed a few perfectionist tendencies lately, which has perhaps given you a lack of perspective therefore becoming stuck attempting to resolve one particular issue. There is a need to lighten up and look outside the square perhaps adapting to changing circumstances. The Full Moon may bring things to a head at the end of the month hopefully with a resolution.
AQUARIUS
You may have been going through a bit of a torrid time what with financial concerns giving rise to changing values. This has possibly put you in quite an introspective mood seeking the comfort of familiar surroundings as you think long and deep about security and safety needs. This sort of reflective mood has put you back in touch with your foundations and the end of the month has things lightening up.
PISCES
Quarrels and disputes make it hard to take decisive action at the start of the month and you may find that compromising is not in your best interests. Although how do you rightfully get something from someone who does not want to give it? End of the month may have you feeling discouraged and inadequate wanting to give up. The situation will improve so hang in there.
ARIES
Uranus, the planet of change or chaos enters your sign at the end of the month after an absence of 84 years and stays there for 2 and a half months before retrograding back into Pisces for a further 7 months before returning to Aries where it remains till 2019. This planet coming after the traditional Saturn is the boundary breaker bringing revolution and innovation. Entering your solar first house many old patterns and limitations placed on yourself will be broken down as you feel the need for change. COSMOS
SUN
With the Sun’s movement into airy Gemini on the 21st from the fixed, grounded earth sign of Taurus frees up the spirit into less conventional avenues. This mutable sign likes nothing better than to spread itself around giving fluctuating inclinations and the urge to spread the mind and body over a variety of tasks, perhaps settling on none. This versatility allows us to adapt to changing needs.
MERCURY
Finally goes direct on the 12th after 3 and a half weeks of retrograde movement but don’t expect any resulting misunderstandings to clear immediately. Still in the sign of Taurus patience and persistence will be needed to unravel any tangled webs the communication planet has woven. Still things should become clearer with delays and frustrations easing to a manageable level.
VENUS
Changes sign to the home loving sign of Cancer on the 20th, where the interaction of family gives much joy and appreciation. No longer content to flit from one social engagement to another the relationship with loved ones takes on more significance with time spent in their company giving comfort and security. During this time it is the familiar that gives a sense of well-being.
SATURN
Turns direct at the very end of the month after 4 and a half months of retrograde movement and some may feel that the year is only just starting. Still in the sign of Virgo if you have been driving yourself crazy over the attention to detail, put the finishing touches to it and know when enough is enough. Your thoroughness can pay dividends but not if you give yourself ulcers over inconsequential details.
URANUS
Enters the sign of Aries on the 28th for 2 and a half months an occurrence that happens around every 84 years. It then retrogrades back into Pisces for a further 7 months before settling into Aries till around 2019. This planet, only discovered in 1781, is responsible for instigating new ways of thinking, and is said to be responsible for social changes, human rights issues and technological inventions. In the heavens Uranus comes after Saturn, planet of structure and boundaries, breaking down traditions allowing change for our continuing evolvement. NEW MOON at 23 TAURUS 09 11:04 AM AEST on 14th MAY
Powers of strength, fertility and endurance are associated with Taurus. Taurean stamina is the stamina and receptivity of Mother Earth herself into which crops were planted every spring (northern hemisphere) to be watered by Father Sky. There is a double-feminine influence with the ruler Venus and also the Moon being exalted in Taurus. This association of the feminine with Taurus may seem at odds with the 21st Century with our first association likely being stud bulls or macho bullfighters and therefore masculine.
New Moons are a fruitful time for new beginnings and in the fertile sign of Taurus it is a great time to become aware of personal needs, inner insecurities and inhibitions that keep us resistant to change. With the square to Neptune, perhaps a sacrifice of material or physical comfort is needed in the short term allowing for a re-evaluation of those personal attachments and values.
The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in the last degrees of Pisces may have us searching for those hidden aspects of existence that we have in common with the rest of mankind. We find we can no longer tolerate unjust situations either personally or globally.
This pair of planets also opposes Saturn so the conflict that arises may make us restless and the temptation may be to disregard current responsibilities for newer, broader pastures. A balance is, of course, needed making way for the new while still finalising commitments.
Venus, ruler of this month’s New Moon is also caught up in these planets’ movements and the Goddess of Love and Personal Values is in a high state of tension. Relationship is unsatisfying. Should I go or should I stay? May need to look at the need to be always charming and agreeable. If we don’t appreciate our own worth how can we expect others to do so. If we enjoy our own company there is no need to feel alone.
Some decisions are hard to make and when we have the dwarf planet Pluto intensifying the issue a band-aid solution will not suffice. Time alone, away from distractions, will help focus and begin the search inwards for the answer or possible solution.

24 degrees Taurus – An Indian warrior riding fiercely, human scalps hanging from his belt.
The aggressiveness of human instincts when fighting for their earthly base of operation. FULL MOON at 6 SAGITTARIUS 33 9:07 am AEST 28th MAY
This Full Moon highlights the polarities of Gemini and Sagittarius with the one living in the present and focusing on immediate realities while the other is more aware of the future and gaining perspective. A negative pairing indicates a frequency in being carried away with meaningless bits of data or theories – a manipulator of words. This can also interfere with the integration of mind, body and feeling and where a struggle may take place in connecting with others on non-verbal levels.
Positively expressed a new perspective and awareness of the future enriches our daily lives and with Uranus, the mythic God of Illumination and Change, entering Aries for the first time since 1927-35 we can expect our view of the world and our philosophy on life will not remain the same. 1927 saw in Australia the opening of Parliament House and the forming of the Australasian Council of Trade Unions.
Jupiter, ruler of this month’s Full Moon, still maintains the once every 14-year conjunction to Uranus, tempting us to stretch ourselves beyond our normal boundaries but the opposition to Saturn, the task master, will remind us of our commitments and responsibilities should we think of doing a runner.
The Moon and Venus, the ladies in the chart, are attempting to rediscover their worth. If social pleasantries have lapsed along with the need to make an effort with appearances a “love me as I am’ message is being sent out. Have a bit of a think as “give me satisfaction even though I offer you none in return” may also be the message you reveal.
The warrior Mars when teamed up with the mystical Neptune loses his hard edge and drive, tending to act less selfishly out of concern for others. The sensitive warrior!!
