Weight Loss … without will power

My story – Part 2 of 3. How I lost 20kgs without dieting

Last week covered how I found a way to eliminate headaches.  But how does this relate to weight loss?  Patience please – we’ll get there I promise!

Firstly, just in case you missed Part I last week, you might like to quickly check out my article on last week’s WollongongOnline for some background – see WOL Archive near bottom of GET CONNECTED links box in left hand column.

Briefly - my mother-in-law gave me a booklet which had had details to a website about eliminating headaches ... so I started investigating and spent a few hours reading the 'How To' manual - this process works nicely as a Do-It-Yourself tool. (The website references are included later, so you can follow my footsteps when you've finished reading this.)

For the first few months after initial success I had some headaches, and quickly eliminated them. I refined the tapping process down to the point that when I felt the early warning signs of a headache I could turn it off with four quick taps on the side of my left thumb. Less than 2 seconds to eliminate the start of a headache! This has had a profound impact on me.

The creator of the process recommends to "Try it on everything" - so I did!

From my earlier cancer surgery I had a lump on my neck under my chin. It was a swelling, like a hard lump of wood, that wasn't getting smaller or looser, and seemed to be fixed to my neck. My doctor said it was strange but advised it should reduce over time.

Anyway, I was standing in the bathroom, in front of the mirror, and was reminded of the words “Try it on everything...' so I said to myself, "Even though I have this woody lump, I deeply and completely accept myself"... all the while tapping as before. I got half way through the second round of tapping (about 90 seconds into the process) when I heard this 'sssqquuuwwwooooowwwwooooowwwwwooooosssshhhh" sound.

I felt the lump and found it was half as hard as before and was now 'detached' from my neck. I could move it about a bit. And by the end of the week, it was completely gone. (Further research taught me the reason why this happened, by the way.)

So, that was two astounding results ... how far can this go?

(I promise, it will lead to my weight loss results.  Thank you for your patience, again.)

With further research I found I could apply this technique to past negative events or traumas in my life and gain emotional relief from them. In other words, I would 'tap' on prior events and my negative feelings toward the event or trauma would reduce to a point where I could easily recall them without any negative mental or physiological reaction.

I made a list of all the accidents and upsets or traumas I could remember, and went to work on them - two or three just before bed time and another two or three in the morning when I woke up ... (I kept a list next to the bed).

Long story short... I found my sleep improved greatly - I am sleeping deeper and waking more enthused for the coming day. I also found my relationships with my kids had improved, and my handling of daily stress is much better.

Some further research on the website showed I could use this in my business. I found I could use the technique on Anxieties. My common ones regarded calling clients or prospective clients. I would always worry and fret about the call before making it. This worry would make me procrastinate - a lot.  I'd find more pleasant things to do so I could avoid making the call! The 'tapping' reduced that greatly, so I was more productive, but a fabulous side effect was that I began to lose weight without conscious effort. The reason: to subdue my Anxiety I would DIVERT MY ATTENTION BY GRABBING A SNACK or another cup of coffee.

Next week we’ll look at what happened next. If you just can’t wait, please email me and I’ll be happy to email back the full article.
